Researching Your Own Family History

The Irizarry Family Tree (Genealogy Site) Password Protected Area*

Researching family history is fun and rewarding.

On this page I'll describe how I went about researching my family tree in the hope that it will inspire others to give it a try. I'll talk about the process I used and any tools or software I found helpful.

I might also include links to interesting genealogy web sites I came across in the course of doing my research, but first.

My name is Harry Irizarry Seda I am one of seven children born to Santa Irizarry Seda. My grandfather and grandmother Gregorio Irizarry and Domings are thought to be the parents of Amelio Irizarry who married: Amelia (maria de los Santos Rodriguez. Her parents are thought to be Tanislo Rodriguez and Paula de los Santos.

My mother had six boys and one girl. Both of my parents worked very hard and did the best they could to raise their family. I started to do research two years ago when I got connected to the Internet. I was starting to research the Seda family looking for my brother Leo (Lilo) Seda. I found him in Arizona. At that time I discovered there were close to 300 Seda's around the United States and 85% were located in New York State. I also found my nephew Patrick Andrew Seda in the great state of Hawaii.

I have learned to use white pages directories on-line to locate family members and I have used many kinds of Internet search engines and found genealogy.com and genealogyroots.com. Some of the links to search engines that are listed below to help you learn about your family history.

Research Tips

Here I might put some tips about researching a family tree, for example:

Be sure to evaluate the source of your information. Remember, you can't believe everything you read!

Remember, most everyone has two family names: your father's as well as your mother's. Don't feel you must restrict your research to just your paternal family tree.
